Quervani ("we") operates quervani.com. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect, why, what we do with it, and what rights you have. It is written to comply with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25.
1. Person in charge of the protection of personal information
The person responsible for the protection of personal information at Quervani is the owner of the business.
Quervani Gatineau, Québec, Canada support.quervani@gmail.com
This is who to contact with any question, request or complaint about your personal information.
2. What we collect
When you place an order: your first and last name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address, and the details of your order.
When you pay: payment is processed by Shopify Payments. We never see or store your full credit card number. We receive only a payment confirmation and the last four digits of the card.
When you browse the site: your IP address, your device, browser and operating system type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site you came from. We also use cookies — see section 5.
When you contact us: the content of your messages and your contact details.
3. Why we collect it
We use your information only to:
• process and deliver your order
• send you confirmations, invoices and shipping updates
• answer your questions and handle returns
• prevent fraud and secure transactions
• meet our tax and accounting obligations
• understand how the site is used, through aggregate statistics
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Consent
By placing an order, you consent to us collecting and using the information needed to fulfil it.
For any other purpose, we ask for your separate, free and explicit consent, and you can withdraw it at any time, at no cost, by writing to us. Withdrawing consent does not affect your ability to buy from us.
5. Cookies
Necessary cookies cannot be disabled. They are set by Shopify to make the site work — remembering your cart, securing your session, processing payment. Without them the site does not function.
Analytics cookies tell us how many people visit and which pages they view. The data is aggregated.
You can refuse or delete non-essential cookies through the consent banner shown on your first visit, or through your browser settings — Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all allow blocking or deleting cookies. Disabling necessary cookies may prevent the site from working.
6. Who we share it with
We share your information only with the providers who help us fulfil your order:
• Shopify Inc. — hosting, order management and payment processing. Data is processed in Canada and the United States.
• Our shipping carriers — delivery.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, such as a court order or a request from a competent authority.
Disclosure outside Quebec. Some of your information is processed and stored outside Quebec, including in the United States, by Shopify. This means it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
7. How long we keep it
Orders, invoices and transaction records are kept for six years after the end of the relevant fiscal year, as our tax obligations require. Customer service correspondence is kept for two years. Browsing data is kept for a maximum of 24 months.
After these periods, information is securely destroyed or anonymized.
8. How we protect it
The site is secured with an SSL certificate, so your connection is encrypted. Payments are processed by Shopify Payments, which is PCI DSS compliant. Access to admin accounts is restricted and protected by two-factor authentication. We store no credit card data.
9. Your rights
Under Law 25, you have the right to:
• access the personal information we hold about you
• have it corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous
• withdraw your consent and ask us to delete information whose collection is no longer necessary
• obtain your information in a structured, commonly used technological format (portability)
• ask for de-indexation of information disseminated about you, in the cases provided by law
• file a complaint if you believe we have not respected your rights
To exercise any of these, write to support.quervani@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.
We may refuse a deletion request where the law requires us to keep a record — transaction records for tax purposes, for example. If that happens, we will tell you why.
10. Privacy incidents
If a privacy incident occurs and it presents a risk of serious injury, we will promptly notify the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec and the people concerned. We keep a register of all incidents.
11. Minors
This site is not intended for anyone under 14 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe your child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
12. Complaints
Send your complaint first to support.quervani@gmail.com.
13. Changes
We may amend this policy. Any significant change will be announced on this page, with a new effective date.
